Fall 2012 Consortium Meeting in Iron Mountain

The Menominee Range Historical Foundation Board of Governors cordially invites all museum participants to attend the Fall Consortium to be held in Iron Mountain.  The event will be held Saturday, September 22, at the Chippewa Club, located at 106 North Carpenter Avenue, Iron Mountain, Michigan, 49801.

Highlights of the event will be the reconstructed WWII CG 4A Glider (only the seventh restored in the world), a 1943 Ford Military Jeep as used in WWII, and a 1946 Ford Sportsman Convertible “Woodie” (body built at our local Ford Plant in Kingsford) which is on temporary loan. All are located in the new Glider/Military Museum.

Registrations are due by Saturday, September 8th.

The event will begin at 8:00 a.m. Central time (9:00 a.m. Eastern) on Saturday, September 22, and continue until 3:00 p.m. Central (4:00 p.m. Eastern).  Attendees are encouraged to bring brochures or other information concerning their organization for distribution.

Directions: Coming into downtown Iron Mountain on Stephenson Avenue, look for a two-sided sign with a glider. Directly across from the sign, turn up Kent Street. At the top of the hill, take a left for ½ block on Carpenter Ave. then a right into the Chippewa Club (with a large carving of an eagle) where most of the day’s events will convene.
